This 16-day Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Holiday combines the very best of East Africa’s wilderness, culture, and coastline. Perfect for travellers seeking a deeply immersive and varied experience, this itinerary begins at the foothills of Mount Meru before taking you through Tanzania’s iconic Northern Circuit—Arusha National Park, Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti—and concludes with pure relaxation on the spice-scented island of Zanzibar.
Begin with gentle acclimatisation in Arusha, including a guided village walk and a walking safari in Arusha National Park. From there, the adventure unfolds with diverse landscapes and exceptional wildlife encounters: ancient baobabs and huge elephant herds in Tarangire, dense wildlife concentrations inside the Ngorongoro Crater, and unforgettable predator sightings on the endless plains of the Serengeti, Africa’s most celebrated national park.
What makes this safari truly unique is the time spent in the Serengeti—multiple days of varied game viewing, a special visit to the Moru Rhino area with TANAPA rangers, flexible schedules, and rich opportunities to observe lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and more. Accommodation throughout Northern Tanzania blends comfort, charm, and authentic safari atmosphere.
To complete the journey, fly to Zanzibar, where historic Stone Town and the tranquil beaches of Jambiani offer the perfect balance of culture, relaxation, and optional ocean activities. With four full days on the coast, there is ample time for snorkelling, diving, kite surfing, spice tours, or simply unwinding by the turquoise Indian Ocean.

A refreshing welcome drink and light snack are served on arrival at the lodge. The peaceful grounds offer the perfect place to relax after a long journey, with the sounds of nature all around. At around 10:00, a local guide arrives to lead a gentle walk in the nearby area, providing an opportunity to stretch the legs and explore a local Tanzanian village. Along the way, it’s easy to interact with friendly residents, buy a bottle of water from a small stall, or share a moment with schoolchildren eager to practice their English.

On rare occasions, even an albino baboon has been spotted here, making each visit a unique experience.
A highlight of the day is a guided walking safari with a park ranger (included). This is one of the few places in northern Tanzania where walking among wildlife is permitted, allowing incredibly close encounters with giraffes and buffalo in a safe, supervised setting.
A picnic basket is provided for lunch, enjoyed at a scenic spot overlooking the lake—often painted pink by thousands of flamingos feeding in the shallow waters. The combination of wildlife, scenery, and tranquility makes Arusha National Park a perfect warm-up for the larger parks ahead.

With a private vehicle, the pace and focus of the day can be customised to suit the moment.
