DAY 1

Tarangire National Park

Early morning collection from your accommodation by your SafariHQ guide, who will provide you with a safety talk and a run down of the itinerary before commencing a short drive to Tarangire National Park for a day of game viewing. Tarangire is dominated by the perennial Tarangire River and is characteristically known for its giant baobab trees and its most spectacular attraction, the large elephant population. In fact, it has the largest population of any park in northern Tanzania, with numbers exceeding 3000 elephants. Spend the night inside Tarangire National Park listening to the sounds of wildlife. Tarangire National Park lies to the south of the large, open grass plains of southern Maasailand. The park derives its name from the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water for wildlife in the area. It is the vast number of baobabs that first capture the eye as you enter the park. The gently rolling countryside is dotted with these majestic trees, which seem to dwarf the animals that feed beneath them. The landscape of Tarangire is further characterized by its river valley, wetlands, gently rolling hills, rocky outcrops and acacia woodland.

DAY 2

Tarangire National Park

Rise for an early morning game drive through the Park, returning to camp for a late breakfast. Pack up the vehicle and continue on an en-route game drive through the Park,  returning to Arusha in the afternoon where itinerary concludes

Tarangire National Park is a national park in Tanzania's Manyara Region. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. The Tarangire River is the primary source of fresh water for wild animals in the Tarangire Ecosystem during the annual dry season. The Tarangire Ecosystem is defined by the long-distance migration of wildebeest and zebras. During the dry season thousands of animals concentrate in Tarangire National Park from the surrounding wet-season dispersal and calving areas.
