Golden monkey trekking is one of the most unique wildlife experiences you can have, offering a rare opportunity to observe these endangered primates in their natural habitat.

Found in the Virunga Mountains of Rwanda and Uganda, these playful monkeys are easily recognised by their vibrant golden-yellow fur.

In Volcano National Park, There are two primary troops in the area. The larger troop, which consists of 80-100 monkeys, is located near Mount Sabinyo and is the most visited. The second, smaller troop resides near Mount Volcano, making both areas prime spots for trekking. Trekking golden monkeys takes place with a single morning trek each day starting at 7am with a relatively short trek. The golden monkeys are known for their curious nature and often interact with visitors, making this experience incredibly engaging.
