DAY 1
Arusha & Meserani Snake Park
Welcome to Tanzania. Your SafariHQ drive guide will be waiting to meet you on arrival at the airport. After a short briefing You will then drive to Meserani Snake Park for your first evening in Arusha. Meserani Snake Park Campsite is a favourite adventure campsite in the outskirts of Arusha and is the perfect location for an evening drink and dinner.

DAY 2
Tarangire National Park
Today we will explore Tarangire National Park in search of the large elephant herds . This park is dominated by the perennial Tarangire River and is characteristically known for its giant baobab trees and its large elephant herds. In fact, it has the largest population of any park in northern Tanzania. These gentle giants abound in excess of 3,000. A picnic lunch will be served at one of the many picnic sites, but beware of the cheeky Vervet Monkeys who enjoy nothing more than stealing unsuspecting safari guest lunch boxes. Dinner and overnight stay under the stars inside Tarangire National Park

DAY 3
Tarangire National Park
Today will be an adventure packed day of game driving in Tarangire National Park. Also expect to see zebra, eland, mongoose, giraffe, bushbuck, hartebeest, dik dik, impala, warthog, reedbuck. Primates you may encounter are olive baboon, vervet monkey and bushbaby. Many carnivores are abundant throughout the park such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and jackal.

DAY 4
Mto Wa Mbu Village and Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast transfer to Lake Manyara National Park, stopping at Mto wa Mbu to explore the village, followed by a traditional Tanzania food tasting. Enjoy a chance to stretch your legs before heading into Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon of game viewing. Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree climbing lions, elephants and 3 species of primates including vervet monkey, blue monkey and baboon. The park boasts one of the highest concentrations of elephants in Africa and is home to the largest baboon troop ever documented. Exit in the latter stages of the afternoon for Ngorongoro Crater Rim.

DAY 5
Ngorongoro Crater
Today we descend into the world famous Ngorongoro Crater, ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World’. The rich pasture and permanent water of the Crater floor supports a resident population of some 25,000 to 30,000 large mammals. The Ngorongoro Crater is also one of the few places left in East Africa where you can see the Black Rhino a member of the BIG 5, which are all residents. We ascend the crater in the early afternoon and make our to a nearby Maasai Village for a short village tour before returning to camp.

DAY 6
Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, we will depart on an en-route game drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Serengeti National Park. Enjoy the beautiful panoramic views as we drive around the Ngorongoro Crater rim while game viewing towards the endless plains of the Serengeti. We will stop at Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mark Leakey’s famous discoveries of man’s ancient ancestors, the Zinjanthropus Bosei. Afterwards we will then proceed towards the world famous Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is unequalled for its beauty and scientific value and has come to symbolise the classic African Safari. With more than 2 million wildebeest, 500,000 Thomson’s gazelle, and 250,000 zebra, it has the largest concentration of plains game animals in Africa.

DAY 7
Serengeti National Park
You will rise early to enjoy a full day of game viewing in the Serengeti. Depending on the location of the Great Wildebeest Migration, we may relocate to a new camp in the Serengeti.

DAY 8
Serengeti National Park
You will rise early to enjoy morning game drive. At sunrise you may encounter animals grazing in the beautiful light of sunrise and predators may still be busy hunting before retiring to rest for the day. Sunrise on the Serengeti is not to be missed and extraordinary photographic opportunities will abound at this magical time of day. You have the option to return to the campsite for a hot lunch or to opt for a packed lunch which can be enjoyed at one of the various picnic sites found in the Serengeti. After lunch you will continue on a game drive. Around the time of dusk be on the lookout for lion. Cheetah can also be spotted on the plains in the early morning and late afternoon when temperatures are not too high. They rely on daylight and speed to catch their prey. Hippo pods can be seen in the bigger pools and rivers while crocodiles can be seen sunning themselves on the riverbanks

DAY 9
Serengeti National Park to Arusha
Today you will say goodbye to the Serengeti and back track through the park on an en-route game drive returning to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport where the itinerary concludes. Alternatively you can fly directly from the Serengeti.
