The rich pasture and permanent water of the Crater floor supports a resident population of some 25,000 to 30,000 large mammals. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the few parks in East Africa where you can witness the BIG 5 and the endangered Black Rhino.  We ascend the crater in the early afternoon and make our way to Tarangire National Park for dinner and overnight stay

In fact, it has the largest population of any park in northern Tanzania. These gentle giants abound in excess of 3,000.
