Tour Plan

Day 1

Day 1 – Arusha to Serengeti National Park

Depart from your chosen accommodation in Arusha and begin the journey toward Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. Along the way, stop at the Ngorongoro Crater rim for a scenic lunch break, enjoying sweeping views across this vast ancient caldera.

Continue into the Serengeti, entering the park in the early afternoon. Covering more than 14,700 square kilometres, the Serengeti is a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its endless grassy plains, scattered granite kopjes, seasonal rivers, and remarkable concentrations of wildlife.

The park is the stage for the legendary Great Migration, where over a million wildebeest and vast numbers of zebra and gazelle traverse the plains in search of fresh grazing. Resident wildlife is abundant year-round, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hyenas, and large crocodiles inhabiting the river systems.

Spend the afternoon on game drives in the central Seronera region, one of the best areas in the park for predator sightings and diverse animal encounters due to its permanent water sources.

As evening draws in, arrive at Seronera Campsite to set up camp and relax beneath the expansive African night sky.

Accommodation: Seronera Public Campsite
Board Basis: Full Board
Approx. Drive Time: 6–7 hours from Arusha including Ngorongoro rim stop

Day 2 – Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater Rim

Begin the day with a light breakfast before setting out on an early morning game drive across the central Serengeti. This is one of the best times for wildlife viewing, with predators actively hunting and animals gathering around water sources in the cool morning air.

Return to Seronera Campsite by mid-morning for a hearty brunch and to prepare for departure. Then continue your journey with an en-route game drive through the Serengeti’s vast open plains as you make your way toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The landscapes shift dramatically along the way, offering opportunities to spot giraffes, elephants, zebra, wildebeest, and a variety of antelope species.

Arrive in the late afternoon at Simba Campsite, perched dramatically on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. From this elevated position, enjoy sweeping views into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera — a truly spectacular sight, especially as the evening light settles across the highlands.

Set up camp and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by cool highland air and the distant sounds of wildlife echoing from the crater floor below.

Accommodation: Simba Public Campsite
Board Basis: Full Board
Approx. Drive Time: 4–5 hours including morning game drive and en-route stops

Day 3 – Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha – Kilimanjaro International Airport

Rise early for a hearty breakfast before descending into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a six-hour game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, with excellent chances to see black rhino, large prides of lions, elephants, buffalo, hyenas, and vast herds of wildebeest and zebra grazing across the crater floor.

Explore the crater’s varied habitats — open grassland, freshwater swamps, acacia woodland, and the shores of Lake Magadi — each supporting its own unique mix of animals and birdlife.

Pause for a picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool, a scenic and peaceful spot where hippos wallow in the water and birds gather along the edges.

After lunch, ascend the crater wall and begin the drive back to Arusha, continuing onward to Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your safari adventure comes to an end.
