DAY 1
Welcome to Tanzania. On arrival you will be met in person by a SafariHQ guide and transferred to your accommodation for an overnight stay. Depending on your time of arrival, You can choose to relax at the hotel or the more adventure minded may decide to explore the bustling city of Arusha. Take the opportunity to shop for souvenirs. You can find many examples of handicrafts at the local craft markets, such as colourful scarves, mekonde carvings, batik, jewellery and artworks.

DAY 2
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Today you will drive to Tarangire National Park for a full day of game viewing. Tarangire National Park is dominated by the perennial Tarangire River and is characteristically known for its giant baobab trees and its large elephant herds. In fact, it has the largest population of any park in northern Tanzania. These gentle giants abound in excess of 3,000. A picnic lunch will be served at one of the many picnic sites, but beware of the cheeky Vervet Monkeys who enjoy nothing more than stealing unsuspecting safari guest lunch boxes.

DAY 3
Tarangire National Park.
Today will be an adventure packed day of game driving in Tarangire National Park. Also expect to see zebra, eland, mongoose, giraffe, bushbuck, hartebeest, dik dik, impala, warthog, reedbuck. Primates you may encounter are olive baboon, vervet monkey and bushbaby. Many carnivores are abundant throughout the park such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and jackal.

DAY 4
Tarangire, Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast transfer to Lake Manyara National Park, stopping at Mto Wa Mbu to explore the village, followed by a traditional Tanzania food tasting. Enjoy a chance to stretch your legs before heading into Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon of game viewing.
Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree climbing lions, elephants and 3 species of primates including vervet monkey, blue monkey and baboon. The park boasts one of the highest concentrations of elephants in Africa and is home to the largest baboon troop ever documented. Exit in the latter stages of the afternoon for Ngorongoro Crater Rim.

DAY 5
Ngorongoro Crater
Today we descend into the world famous Ngorongoro Crater, ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World’. The rich pasture and permanent water of the Crater floor supports a resident population of some 25,000 to 30,000 large mammals. The Ngorongoro Crater is also one of the few places left in East Africa where you can see the Black Rhino a member of the BIG 5, which are all residents. We ascend the crater in the early afternoon and make our to a nearby Maasai Village for a short village tour before returning to camp.

DAY 6
Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, we will depart on an en-route game drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Serengeti National Park. Enjoy the beautiful panoramic views as we drive around the Ngorongoro Crater rim while game viewing towards the endless plains of the Serengeti. We will stop at Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mark Leakey’s famous discoveries of man’s ancient ancestors, the Zinjanthropus Bosei.
Afterwards we will then proceed towards the world famous Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is unequalled for its beauty and scientific value and has come to symbolise the classic African Safari. With more than 2 million wildebeest, 500,000 Thomson’s gazelle, and 250,000 zebra, it has the largest concentration of plains game animals in Africa.

DAY 7
Serengeti National Park
You will rise early to enjoy a full day of game viewing in the Serengeti. Depending on the location of the Great Wildebeest Migration, we may relocate to a new camp in the North or South Serengeti so we are close to the great herds.

DAY 8
Serengeti National Park
Today you will spend the day game viewing and with some good luck you will witness the Great Wildebeest Migration. The Wildebeest Herds are in the Southern Serengeti / Ndutu area from Early December to February. This time of year is known as the Calving Season where hundreds of thousands of Wildebeest along with other wildlife are born on the southern plains. This is a spectacle in itself as predators are also aligned with this feeding opportunity and so game viewing is quite intense and rewarding. The Wildebeest migrate up through the Serengeti reaching the Northern Serengeti and cross into the Masai Mara and back during the months of late July through to early October.

DAY 9
Serengeti National Park to Kilimanjaro Airport
Spend a final early morning game viewing in the Serengeti National Park before transferring to the Airstrip for the flight back to Arusha Airport where the safari concludes.
