DAY 1

Depart Arusha for Lake Manyara

After  breakfast you will be greeted by one of our guides who will brief you before setting out for your safari. The briefing will familiarise you with our vehicles and will cover safety tips that must be followed whilst in the National Park. After the briefing you will be driven to Lake Manyara National Park for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 2

Lake Manyara National Park to Serengeti National Park.

Enjoy breakfast, before entering Lake Manyara National Park for an early morning game drive. Stretching for 50km’s along the base of the 600 metre high Rift Valley Escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem, with a setting described by Ernest Hemingway as the “loveliest I had seen in Africa”.  The compact game-viewing circuit through Manyara offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience.  Return to Camp for lunch before commencing the drive to the World famous Serengeti National Park.  Tanzania’s oldest and most popular National Park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa.

DAY 3

Full day of game viewing Serengeti National Park.

Enjoy a full days game drive in the Serengeti National Park, home to the greatest concentration of mammals on earth. The landscape is characterised by vast stretches of open plains, punctuated by kopjes, rock formations that have survived from the Pre-Cambrian period, and open woodlands. Enjoy a packed lunch or return to your accommodation for a chance to stretch your legs and enjoy a cooked lunch. After lunch you will set out again in your safari vehicle for an afternoon game drive. Photographic opportunities will abound as the sun sets on these world famous plains. A sight never to be forgotten. At sunset return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 4

Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Highlands. 

 

Today you will rise early to enjoy your last game drive in the Serengeti. Mid morning we will make our way to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to visit a traditional Maasai village. Here you will be greeted by the Chief who will guide you around the nearby bomas and explain the culture of the Maasai people. After saying goodbye to the Maasai people, you will drive to your accommodation in the Ngorongoro Highlands.

DAY 5

Morning game drive Ngorongoro Crater 

At Sunrise, we descend 600 metres magnificent into the Ngorongoro Crater.  The Crater is a world heritage site and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and is commonly referred to as the 8th wonder of the world. The 2,000 feet high walls of the approximately 10 mile wide crater create a natural amphitheatre for the densest populations of large animals anywhere in the world. With a resident population of over 25,000 mammals, you are sure to be overwhelmed  by the abundance of wildlife that exists within the crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is a microcosm of the African safari experience and in one day it is possible to see a staggering array of wildlife including all the big carnivores. Ascend the crater in the early afternoon and return to your accommodation for your final night on safari.
